Beta Information

Questions regarding our beta book.
1.0 When will the Beta Test be available?
As of now, the Beta Manual will be shipped by the end of the fourth quarter, 2005. That's our target date anyway... and trust us it has changed more than once...

2.0 How do I become a Beta Tester?
Simply create a membership account and when our team feels the game is ready for Beta, you will be contacted via email regarding the Beta Test. This does not mean that you will be automatically selected for the Beta Test, it only makes you elligible. When the email regarding the Beta is received, you will be instructed to fill out an application online, and we will select 20 groups to participate in the Beta Test.

2.1 How will you choose Beta testers?
We have not yet decided on the exact method of selection and it will likely change dependant upon how far into Beta we are. The longer that Beta stays open, the better your chances are at recieving an invite. The best place to find Beat information is on the Message Boards.

2.2 What is expected of me as a Beta Tester?
As a tester, you would be expected to visit the forums on the website at least once a week and to encourage your playing group to do the same. Honest feedback about the mechanics of the game: gameplay, and the story. Confidentiality, you are being trusted with intillectual material that will be copyright. Any disclosure of information to non-participating parties will be frowned upon. Sharing Ideas, NPC's, Adventures, Equipment, Villains, and any other pertinent game info which would be useful to other testing parties.

2.3 Will there be an NDA?
In short, yes. You will recieve more information regarding rules and regulations upon acceptance into our Beta program.

3.0 How many people will Beta test the game?
Our initial thoughts are 20 groups of Beta testers. Each group will hopefully contain at least 5 players, of which should be registered with the website and communicate with the rest of the players via the forums which will be set up shortly.

4.0 Should I create an account even if I'm not interested in Beta Testing?
By all means, yes! You will receive information regarding release dates of the full game version and get to see some information that's not completely and totally available to the public.

5.0 What if I don't like being a Beta Tester?
Well, we're hoping that this doesn't happen, however we understand that not everyone is going to enjoy our game, even though we would like that. If you so choose, you may discontinue your Beta status and return the materials to us.

6.0 What kind of features will be available to the Beta Testers on the website?
So far, our plans are as follows, (keep in mind, these will most likely be altered depending on what is needed by the testers). Equipment database, Spell database, Creature Database, NPC database, Open Discussion Forum, as well as a File Library with Adventures, Character sheets, Creatures, and any other files that the Beta team members feel would be useful to other testers.

7.0 How Long will the Beta Test last?
We estimate the Beta will take approximately 6 months. This of course assumes that we get constructive feedback from our beta testers, and we're able to fix all the bugs they come accross in a timely manner.

8.0 How long has Eternally Mortal been in development?
While the concept of the game has been around for nearly 8 years now, within the past 3 the development team has made rapid progress. It takes years to develop a game from the ground up. It is not as easy as just putting a modification onto another game, it is a much more extensive process.
